Dog-friendly trails and green walks in Singapore
Share
Singapore has plenty of green space to explore with your dog, but “trail” can mean a park connector, a park path, or a route through a nature area with very different access rules. Start with places that NParks lists for dog walks, then check the latest park notices before you go.
Start with dog-friendly parks and connectors
For a relaxed, trail-like outing, consider the paths around Punggol Waterway Park or Sengkang Riverside Park. For a longer route, NParks highlights the North Eastern Riverine Loop, which links green spaces across the northeast. The route is long, so choose a short section that suits your dog rather than trying to cover the whole loop at once.
Use NParks’ parks and park connector guide for pets to find current dog-friendly locations. Its dog-walking guidance also explains where dogs are not allowed, including nature reserves and several sensitive nature trails. Check signs on site and keep your dog on a leash where required.
Make the walk work for your dog
- Choose a cooler time of day and bring water for both of you.
- Let your dog sniff and take breaks; a shorter, slower outing can be more enriching than a long march.
- Stay on marked paths, give wildlife and other visitors space, and clean up after your dog.
- After the walk, check paws and coat for heat, mud, seeds, ticks or irritation.
Routes, access rules and facilities can change. Confirm the latest details with NParks before setting out, and ask your veterinarian about exercise needs if your dog has a health condition.
